Educational garden and public park
The Stjernehagen (”Star garden”) is a demonstration garden for small-scale growers. Here, we provide information and advice to visitors about how to grow organic vegetables, herbs and berries. We wish to inspire the cultivation of useful plants in gardens, and to demonstrate how to combine food production with ornamental aspects. The demonstration garden is intended to be a source of inspiration, and provides a space in which we can arrange courses and workshops. Part of Stjernehagen is used as a school garden that allows us to do pedagogical research and development, linking pedagogics with horticulture and other uses of our natural resources.
The garden is connected to a park area, including paths, a small climbing facility and animal enclosures, in which sheep, goats, chickens and pigs are kept during the summer months.
