Connecting with farmers and consumers about the benefits from organic farming
The goal of the project is to contribute information and foster dialogue about the environmental and sustainability improvements stemming from organic farming. This is part of the government sanctioned spearhead-function aimed at contributing to a more sustainable Norwegian agriculture.
Increased knowledge among producers and consumers
The target groups includes both producers and consumers, with an emphasis on conventional farmers who might consider transitioning to organic farming and supporting organic farmers to stay motivated. At the same time, interested consumers gain access to knowledge about the benefits of organic food and food production.
What will we do?
Four publications in the NORSØK series with Faginfo sill be published with following themes:
- Livestock welfare
- Biodiversity including grazing and plant protection remedies
- Non-renewable resources
- Nutrient balance and environmental effects
These publications will be prepared in dialog with relevant resource persons in various organizations from both producer and consumer side.
Expected results are a better documentation, more knowledge and increased dialog about choices regarding sustainability and farming.
Final reporting no later than 1st of March 2026.
